Sweaters

See this sweater that I am knitting, see how far I am?

I am going to rip it all out.

It was going to be like this green sweater... Very cute, right? Good design, nice shape, flattering on the model. Only problem is I'm not built like the model. And my yarn is a bit bulkier than called for, making the sweater even less drapey than the original. Not good.

See this sweater? (Tiny picture I know) It's made from a yarn as bulky as the red yarn above. It's also pretty cute, good design, etc... And I think it will look much nicer on my figure than the green one.

So I am ripping the sweater, to use the yarn for a something I'll actually wear. Maybe I'll try the green one again some day.

Cable Baby Blanket

The blanket for Melissa's baby.

It's a boy, and her wallpaper has a really cute fish design on the chair rail portion.  So I figured that blue and white would be good, with a little cable detailing.

This is the blanket, blocked out on our futon.

The corner (while blocked).

The center of the blanket.

All folded, ready to gift.

Palin makes my head hurt.

Knitting makes me feel better.

I worked on another swatch for the brown sweater while Josh and I yelled at our TV.  I need to knit a bunch more and block it a little to see if I like the cables.  So far I like the drunken cables bordering the pie crust better than the pie crust cable itself.  We shall see how this plays out.
