Way late posting

Quick update, I've started teaching at The Yarn Garden in Portland, I'm test knitting a cool lace shawl, and I have two patterns for sale online!

A swatch for the test knit.

Pattern one for sale, Portlandia Hat.

Pattern two for sale, Cable Loop Cowl.

Cable Baby Blanket

The blanket for Melissa's baby.

It's a boy, and her wallpaper has a really cute fish design on the chair rail portion.  So I figured that blue and white would be good, with a little cable detailing.

This is the blanket, blocked out on our futon.

The corner (while blocked).

The center of the blanket.

All folded, ready to gift.

Lia's Blanket

A blanket designed for my friend Malika's little one, Lia Christina Barros.

I adapted the Northern Lights stitch pattern from one of Barbara Walker's stitch dictionaries, and added a contrasting seed stitch border.  I might rework this pattern.  Then Lia will get another blanket.

Swatching

An idea of what to do with my Happy Feet Superwash Merino sock yarn, that I'm going to knit a sweater out of.

Plain stockinette with a seed stitch border?  We'll see.  I want something that won't compete with the yarn's color shifts, although those don't seem so very drastic.  Maybe I can do something more intricate.  Then again I only bought four skeins, I might have to stick to stockinette.  Time for some math!
